The aLt Monthly: 13/11/2014 (WOD!) - 13/12/2014

WE ARE NOW 3/7 HEROIC!

* Starting from December 2014, updates to guild matters will be done monthly unless there are any important updates to our progression or how things will be run.

It has been a month since the release of WoD and we have gone through 2 weeks of Highmaul raiding so far. To address the concerns on how we should best approach PvE progression we have made some significant changes to the way the guild is run. I will be detailing exactly what are the changes and how it affects you in the wall of text below.

1. Phasing out of the APS system

With regards to the APS system, we have found after the 2 weeks of usage that it contributed significantly to down time between bosses as well as it being very prone to human error. There were 2 cases of discrepancies in the values recorded we have found so far and we felt that if the system was this easy to fault it would not be fair to distribute loots out to our members and so the decision was made to phase out of this system.

To be fair to those who have already accumulated some points, all your existing points will now be used to prioritize loot to yourself at a standard rate of 10/loot. Weekly decay of 10 points a week will be put in place to speed up the process of phasing out the system. When the APS have all been cleared out we will proceed with a "Suicide Kings" style loot system. (http://www.wowwiki.com/Suicide_Kings)

This system will be handled using an addon (KonferSK) tenatively, we will be testing this out in the upcoming raids to see if it works exactly to fit our needs. This loot system will apply to the casual raid day.

2. Raiding schedule and team

After 2 weeks of raiding Normal modes, we have received feedback from some of our members that we are too slow in terms of progression and that as much as we would love to include everybody in our raids as an objective we need to push for progression as well. In order to address this issue we have made changes to when and how we raid.

We have chosen a select team of raiders for our progression team. This team consist of members that have been vetted by the guild management and they have been chosen using the following criteria:

- Ability to commit to raid timing

- Ability to handle raid mechanics

- Ability to pull their weight in terms of numbers (DPS/HPS etc)

- Understanding of their class

- Personal character

Points 1 to 4 should be mostly self explanatory, so I will elaborate on what we mean by personal character. For our progression team we hope to find members that are a good fit not only by merit of ability we also hope that the members are able to work together well as a team. Our progression raids run a loot council, so loot will be distributed to members with the objective of progression in mind. More details on how this system works will be shared in the next section. But in short, if we don't feel like you would play well in such an environment we will be less likely to consider you as our next invite to the progression team. Positions in this team are also not guaranteed, if you do not pull your own weight you will be replaced.

Invites have already been sent out via in-game mail, so if you have not received any mail as of today we have decided that it was not yet the right time to do so. If you feel strongly that you should have been in this team, please do feel free to contact Deäthbringer in game and I will most definitely be happy to address your concerns.

With regards to raid days, we are now raiding Wed/Thurs @ 11PM SVT for the progression team. Sundays @ 11PM SVT will be our casual raid day where we raid with everyone, this will be the day we will keep a look out for potential members to invite to do progression raiding with us. If you are a casual and are not looking to raid on the high end, this is the day you can come and enjoy a more relaxed raiding environment.

3. Loot Council

Some of you have come to me with questions regarding how the loot council works so I will detail exactly how the thought process goes into the distribution of loot. Whenever a piece of loot drops, all members that are interested in this piece of gear will indicate their interest by linking their current piece and their current item level in the raid chat. Then the following priority is applied to the distribution:

1. If we as a team are lacking in terms of number output (DPS/HPS) to clear a gear check (EG: Butcher) we will prioritize first and foremost loot to the members that need it most to improve their numbers.

2. Member with the largest upgrade will receive the loot.

3. If all members interested in that piece of loot all have the same item level we will look at whether or not it is the best in slot piece from the raid.

4. Otherwise all members involved will be asked to roll.

That concludes all the updates we have gone through in the month of November - December! If you have any concerns or questions feel free to PM any of the guild officers and they will try to do their best to answer them.

What to expect in the month to come:

- Christmas break from raiding (20th - 28th). Raiding may still be done but will be on a much smaller scale and will be privately scheduled.

- More progression to be done in Heroic Mode as we are aiming to enter Mythic raiding, all members involved do check out the video guides and optimize your gear!

Enjoy your Christmas and we will see you again in the new year! :)
